Acceptable Usage Policy

1. Prohibited Activities

You may not use our infrastructure, network, or services for any of the following activities:

1.1 Content Restrictions

• Unlawful Material: Any content that violates applicable Indian law or the laws of any other jurisdiction where our infrastructure is located or accessed.
• Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Content exploiting minors or CSAM. HubforHost maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy and reports instances immediately to law enforcement authorities.
• Extremism & Violence: Content promoting terrorism, violent extremism, hate speech, or incitement of violence against protected groups.
• Fraud & Impersonation: Phishing, fraudulent websites, financial scams, credential harvesting, or identity theft activities.
• Intellectual Property Infringement: Storing, transmitting, or linking to content that violates copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets without lawful authorization.
• Harassment & Defamation: Defamatory, libelous, harassing, stalking, or threatening content targeting individuals or corporate entities.

1.2 Technical Abuse

• Spam & Unsolicited Bulk Email: Originating or relaying spam, unsolicited commercial email (UCE), or mail through unverified third-party lists.
• Open Relays & Unauthenticated Proxies: Operating open mail relays, open recursive DNS resolvers, or open proxy servers that permit unauthorized third-party transit.
• Network Attacks: Launching or participating in Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, port scanning, vulnerability probing, brute-force attacks, or penetration testing without explicit prior written authorization.
• Malicious Software: Storing, distributing, or executing malware, trojans, ransomware, viruses, botnet command-and-control (C2) servers, or rootkits.
• Cryptocurrency Mining: Running unauthorized cryptocurrency mining operations or distributed hash generation scripts that overload compute capacity.
• Excessive Resource Consumption: Consuming server resources to an extent that degrades performance, responsiveness, or availability for neighbor tenants on shared infrastructure.
• Disruptive Processes: Executing scripts, unindexed loops, or automated bots that interfere with the core stability and administration of our servers.

1.3 Service Abuse

• Unauthorized Reselling: Reselling, sub-licensing, or re-assigning services without an authorized partner, agency, or reseller agreement.
• Circumvention of Limits: Creating multiple synthetic accounts or aliases to circumvent administrative suspensions, resource throttles, or promotional terms.
• Pirated & Nulled Software: Using our storage or web services to host, download, or distribute pirated software, cracked themes, nulled scripts, or unauthorized key generators.
• Anonymous Relays: Operating public Tor exit nodes or unauthenticated anonymous proxy services without prior written agreement.
• Upstream Policy Violations: Engaging in any conduct that violates the terms and acceptable use policies of our upstream tier-1 carrier networks, IP registries, or data center facilities.

2. Resource Limits & Fair Use

2.1 Hosting Accounts

• Compute & Memory: CPU core and physical memory usage limits apply per hosting plan tier to ensure equitable resource allocation across all tenants.
• I/O Operations: Storage input/output (IOPS) operations and disk throughput are monitored continuously and may be throttled if sustained usage degrades storage array performance.
• Inode Allocations: Inode limits apply to prevent filesystem saturation and ensure rapid automated snapshot backups and restoration procedures.
• Database Operations: Database size, table locking behavior, and concurrent query caps apply to preserve database server health and cache hit ratios.

2.2 Email Usage

• Plan Sending Caps: Daily and hourly sending caps apply based on plan specifications to protect shared mail IP reputation.
• Bounce Rate Monitoring: Outbound email queues are actively monitored; accounts generating elevated bounce rates or high spam complaints are subject to automatic relay suspension.
• DNS Authentication: Compliance with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication standards is required for bulk and transactional email sending to verify origin legitimacy.

2.3 Cloud Object Storage Fair Use & Permitted Workloads

• Permitted Workloads: S3-compatible cloud object storage is designed for enterprise data backups, database dumps, BCDR snapshots, media offloading and on-demand streaming (WordPress, Next.js, video/audio on-demand), application assets, and secure log archival. Live streaming is not supported. Customers are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights, licences and permissions for content they store or distribute.
• Prohibited Storage Content: Storing, publishing, or distributing copyrighted materials without authorization, warez, pirated movies/software, malware command-and-control payloads, crypto mining state files, or unlawful media is strictly prohibited and subject to immediate bucket termination without refund.
• Bandwidth & API Egress: Standard plans include 1:1 outbound transfer matching contracted capacity. Continuous automated high-frequency polling designed to exhaust API capacity or denial-of-service attempts against storage endpoints will trigger automated rate limiting.

3. Enforcement & Escalation

3.1 Monitoring and Detection

• We continuously monitor network telemetry, server load, and abuse feeds for security threats and policy violations.
• Automated protective systems may immediately throttle or suspend accounts that exceed operating limits or trigger security alarms.
• We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and cybercrime investigatory units in response to valid legal orders.

3.2 Violations and Consequences

• First Violation: Written notice detailing the issue, accompanied by a requirement to remedy the violation within a specified timeframe.
• Repeat Violations: Formal account suspension or permanent termination of all hosting services.
• Severe Violations: Zero-tolerance offenses (including CSAM, active phishing, malware, or network attacks) result in immediate suspension without prior notice.
• No Refunds: Accounts terminated due to violations of this Acceptable Usage Policy are strictly non-refundable under our money-back guarantees.

3.3 Appeals Process

If you believe your account was suspended in error or have remediated the root cause of an issue, you may file a formal appeal:

• Contact our administration team at hello@hubforhost.com with your primary domain, account username, and full details of the incident.
• Submit a detailed remediation plan explaining how the underlying vulnerability or misconfiguration was resolved.
• Appeals are independently reviewed by operations leadership within 28 business days of submission.
