S3 CORS Configuration for Web Uploads

Browser-based uploads require agreed Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) rules on the bucket. CORS is configured as part of Concierge Assisted Provisioning.

πŸ“‹ Prerequisites

  • Your web origin (for example https://example.com)
  • HTTP methods and headers your uploader needs

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Share your origins during requirement review

Include every web origin, HTTP method and custom header your uploader uses so the agreed CORS baseline can be applied.

2

Confirm the applied configuration

After provisioning, verify the agreed CORS behavior from your staging origin before production cutover.

3

Prefer pre-signed URLs for direct uploads

Combine CORS with pre-signed URLs so browsers upload directly without exposing the Secret Key.

πŸ“Œ Important Notes

  • CORS misconfiguration surfaces as browser errors even when CLI access works. Test from the real origin.
